eLien & Title

In 2015, eDS began working with the Nevada Department of Motor Vehicles to develop an Electronic Lien and Title program. AB309 was passed and became effective in 2013 calling for the establishment of an electronic lien system capable of processing the notification and release of security interests via an electronic batch file.

The ELT program was implemented in September 2015 and began its voluntary participation phase. The second phase of NV ELT will begin on October 01, 2016 and will require lienholders filing more than 27 liens per year to enroll and participate. The final phase of NV ELT is anticipated to be in effect Fall of 2017 and will require all lienholders who are normally engaged in the business or practice of financing vehicles to participate.

Participating lenders send and receive lien information through an approved Service Provider
